Writer’s note: I first posted this a poem for a online contest but the contest is a dirty business trick. In the private view, I saw people votes for my poem isn’t counted because they haven’t “verified” their email.

I withdraw it from there and share it. I hope you’ll like it. Do try to listen to me reciting it if you prefer. I’d love to hear your opinion.

I'm smitten by your charms
Long before you came
I want to cradle you in my arms
Protect you from any harms

But motherhood isn't a game
Nothing is as simple as it seems
You're another human being
There will be misunderstandings

I hate to see you in tears
I'll run to you for each scream
But I'm not a perfect person
Believe me, I understand your pain

Thanks for reading/(probably listening) I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
